Barcelona appear to be headed to a second title in 2015 with a 2-0 lead at halftime against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday in the Copa del Rey, courtesy of Brazilian forward Neymar and some exceptional passing from the Catalans midfield.
In the 36th minute, Barcelona added to their one-goal advantage when Ivan Rakitic found Luis Suarez after a give-and-go with Lionel Messi. Suarez, who was very close to being offside, dribbled the ball into the penalty box, and then delivered a pass to a streaking Neymar, and the Brazilian easily delivered a right-footed tap in with goalkeeper Iago Herrerin off of his line.
The Neymar strike came 16 minutes after Messi delivered one of his best goals of the season. The Argentine forward had three defenders on him on the right wing, but managed to elude them all. Then found his way into the penalty box to avoid another defender, before delivering a left-footed shot that went near post on Herrerin.
Playing the cup final at their home ground of Camp Nou, Barcelona have dominated possession (75 percent). The Catalans have also taken eight shots with six on target, compared to Athletic Bilbao's two shots with neither on target.
