October has come early – sort of. On Sunday, AMC released a sneak peek clip of season four of “The Walking Dead.” A quick 45-second scene, it was easy for fans to blink and miss it. Fortunately the video has hit the web and We’ve got it here.

The “first look at a scene from season four” aired during AMC’s new original series on Sunday night, “Low Winter Sun.” The show, which is now three episodes deep, stars “Walking Dead” fan favorite Lennie James (Morgan).

Airing halfway through the episode, the video shows Michonne on something that “Walking Dead” viewers haven’t seen since season one – a horse. As she gallops towards the prison gates, Carl sees her and runs to open the first batch of doors. Heading through them, Michonne tells her horse “whoa boy” as walkers approach.

Jumping off the horse to try and fend the zombies off, the experienced walker-killer gets quite a shock when one grabs her. Michonne is struggling, using one walker to put distance between her and another. Carl quickly runs for a gun, and Maggie yells “hold on” from the watchtower but … fans will have to wait until Oct. 13 to see if Michonne makes it out unscathed.

Footage from the coming season of “The Walking Dead” has been scarce. When filming started up in May, the network posted a “first look photo from the set” on their blog. The photo showed Rick in the woods, seemingly unaware that a walker is lurking behind him.

AMC later released a new promo poster specifically designed for Comic Con. The promo poster highlighted the four major players for season four – Tyreese, Rick, Daryl and Michonne. As the latest sneak peek showed, Michonne has her katan and is on a horse.

In late July the season four trailer for Comic Con dropped, teasing some major drama and blood ahead. The number of walkers appears to be growing and evolving, the prison has new forms of security, Rick’s group is expanding, someone’s breaking into their fortress, and they might eventually be forced to go on the run.

Season four of “The Walking Dead” premieres on Oct. 13 at 9 p.m. EDT on AMC. Will you be tuning in to watch the new season? Let us know in the comments section.
