Fans of “The Walking Dead” are accustomed to meeting new characters, but these Season 6 additions are a completely blank slate. According to reports, viewers can expect to welcome survivors named Delvin and Tucker. However, the names Delvin and Tucker have never appeared in Robert Kirkman’s comic books.

AMC’s zombie-apocalypse series is known to stray from the graphic novels, so brand-new characters are nothing surprising. Fortunately, fans don’t have to wait until the Season 6 fall premiere to learn about the mysterious additions. TVLine got its hands on the casting notice, and posted a description of Delvin.

The new face is an African-American man in his 20s who is said to be a “cynic.” TVLine reported he’s “left so dumbfounded by displays of stupidity” it’s hard for him to admit that even though some can be “idiots,” there are still other “decent” survivors out there. In contrast, Tucker is a “hard worker tough guy who values fairness,” according to E Online.

When “Walking Dead” viewers last saw Rick’s (Andrew Lincoln) gang, they were still holed up at the Alexandria Safe Zone. The residents of the Safe Zone were deliberating about whether Rick should stay in Alexandria after a violent outburst. However, that got put on the backburner when a crazed Pete (Corey Brill) showed up and accidentally killed Deanna’s (Tovah Feldshuh) husband, Reg (Steve Coulter), while attempting to attack Rick. The final moments of the Season 5 finale featured Rick shooting Pete in the head with Deanna’s blessing and Morgan (Lennie James) showing up on the grounds with Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Aaron (Ross Marquand).

Currently, it’s unclear where Delvin and Tucker could come into play. The pair could be Alexandria residents who viewers never met before. Or they could be members of a new group of survivors to be introduced in Season 6. It’s also possible that “Delvin” and “Tucker” are false names for the characters to avoid spoiling some future plot points. Producers of “The Walking Dead” have been known to use fake character names while casting major roles based on the comics.
