April the giraffe remained “big and happy” despite the delay in labor, the Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville, New York, said Wednesday in a late evening update.

The giraffe shot to instant internet fame after the upstate New York zoo set up a live stream in February to document her pregnancy and the birth of her calf. The YouTube live stream went viral, attracting millions of viewers from across the world. At any given time even now, almost 100,000 people can be seen watching the giraffe’s live stream. “All remains as reported earlier,” the zoo said in a post on Facebook on Wednesday. “Big and happy. We did note significant movement from the calf today during observation times.”

The zoo posts regular updates about April’s health and predictions about her pregnancy on its Facebook page, which is liked and followed by over a million people. But as more and more time passes without April going into active labor, a number of fans have felt disillusioned and say the entire pregnancy may be a hoax.

The Animal Adventure Park, however, rubbished such speculation and in the evening update, the zoo said, “April had a few visitors (industry friends) from out of state that were shocked to see just how large she is. The camera just doesn't capture actual size/proportions.”

Earlier in the day, it had posted a picture of April’s mammary development to call out all those who claimed that the giraffe was not actually pregnant.

“Today's photo is of the udder, to show mammary development,” the zoo said early Wednesday. “For any hoaxers or #Fakenews stories questioning April and the pregnancy — a quick biology lesson — animals do not develop milk unless supporting a pregnancy.”
