"Black Thought" of the Roots just scored from extra nerd points from us. Last night on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon," Black Thought, a member of the Roots, which is the show's house band, spat out some awesome rhymes with Mario as the central theme.

The idea came about when Jimmy Fallon read a letter from a viewer that wished there were lyrics to the Mario theme. Fallon then asked Black Thought if he could perform a Mario-centric rap. We wonder whether this was truly spontaneous or planned during rehersal. Either way, it's freakin' awesome.

Black Thought talks about Mario's life, from saving Daisy to battling foes like Donkey Kong, Koopa and more. He even worked in a reference to Double Stuffed Oreos. Sold.
