A passenger's flight from Germany to the United States turned into a nightmare due to a child whose "demonic screams" for the entire eight-hour trip gave everyone a headache. In a video uploaded by Shane Townley on YouTube, a 3-year-old child is seen climbing over seats and screaming right before the flight took off.

“Watch as this kid runs and screams throughout the entire flight while the mother does little to nothing to stop him. 3 years old on an 8 hour flight from Germany to Newark NJ. He never quits!” Townley wrote.

While it is understandable that young children might be stressful and take time to settle down during long flights, but it became clear to other passengers on board the Lufthansa plane that this child would not remain quite as he continued his rampage for the whole trip.

The incident took place in August, but the video went viral after it was uploaded Tuesday. The video has more than 500,000 views on YouTube.

The video posted on social media and circulated by several news outlets show passengers covering their ears as the child continues to scream. Several users commented sympathizing with the child's parents who were trying to calm him down, while some blamed them for the toddler's behavior.

“Another useless parent who thinks her kid is entitled to annoy the world. She ought to be fined heavily, that will make her do something next time,” one Facebook commentator wrote, while another said: “Disgusting display by both child. And the mother for her lack of at least trying to ‘control’ her child.”

But others said "kids will be kids" and “I’m sure it was annoying. Just wondering exactly how anyone thinks she could stop it? I’ve got one who would scream I’m sure so we just don’t fly anywhere. Other than sedation stopping a child screaming isn’t easy."

Meanwhile, the mother of the child was overheard telling flight attendants that her son has “behavioral problems.”

Townley, who captured parts of the August flight on video, told Inside Edition of the mother’s disposition: "She kind of looked like she was used to it. He was climbing the chairs. He would not let up. He was running up and down the aisles and there was nothing she could do."

She was also heard pleading with the child saying, “Calm down, honey.”

“Everyone was kind of looking at each other like, ‘This is going to be a long flight,'" Townley added.

Passengers were reportedly relieved after the plane landed at Newark Liberty International Airport.
