Sony Pictures has released the full official trailer for the Total Recall reboot starring Colin Farrell and Kate Beckinsale in place of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sharon Stone in the 1990 original flick.

The film, premiering Aug. 3, is a reboot of the 1990 film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, based on Philip K. Dick's short story We Can Remember It For You Wholesale.

Being a reboot, don't expect the same story from the Schwarzenegger film.

In the updated version, Colin Farrell plays Douglas Quaid, a factor worker who thinks he's a spy as nation states Euromerica and New Shanghai engage in war.

But there are some aspects of Farrell's character that parallels Schwarzenegger's real-life story.

I play Douglas Quaid. An Australian expat who rises to prominence of body building, Farrell told The Inquisitr. Continues into a very successful career in film which he finds to be the perfect platform for politics.

The newly released trailer expands on the teaser trailer previously unveiled by Sony Pictures.
