Kate Middleton and Prince William are expecting their third child, and Kensington Palace revealed Tuesday that the next little prince or princess will be born in the spring.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby in April 2018,” a tweet from the official Kensington Palace account reads.

William and Kate are already parents to Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 2. It seems the latest addition to the royal family is expected to arrive before Charlotte’s third birthday on May 2.

Their children are next in line for the throne, but it sounds like William and Kate are trying to raise them like normal kids. During a “Paddington 2” charity event, the Duke of Cambridge recently revealed that George is pretty typical when it comes to screen time. He loves watching Disney and LEGO movies.

“He quite likes ‘The Lion King,’ we’ve watched that a few times,” he said. “We’ve watched ‘Octonauts’ several times. He has watched some LEGO movies as well. Trying to keep him off the television is hard work.”

It might be good for the parents to have a good way to distract George. After all, the Duchess of Cambridge typically doesn’t feel well when she’s pregnant. She suffers from hyperemesis gravidarum, otherwise known as severe morning sickness. The diagnosis is rare, but it can cause severe nausea, dizziness, feeling faint and vomiting. The Duchess of Cambridge has to be careful to stay hydrated despite these symptoms.

Kate has canceled some appearances and even missed George’s first day of school due to the condition. Her first public appearance since the baby announcement was made in September was last week at a reception for World Mental Health Day. Many speculated that a boy was on the way after seeing her in a blue Temperley dress. However, she was most recently spotted in a pink Orla Kiely frock (seen above), so it’s unlikely that the philanthropist is using her fashion choices to hint at the gender of her third child.

The expecting mother was spotted in the pink dress when she made a surprise appearance Monday at an event for children who are involved in the various charities supported by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as well as Prince Harry. Kate seemed to be feeling O.K. She was pictured laughing and dancing with Paddington the bear.

The worst of her morning sickness might be behind her. “She has such a rotten time during these early months,” a source told E! Online. “But she’s out of the woods now and doing well.”

Her baby bump is barely visible yet, much to the disappointment of many fans. Commenters complained that she barely looks pregnant, but the revelation that she isn’t due until April explains why. It seems Kensington Palace confirmed the Duchess’ condition early on, just a few weeks into the pregnancy. The decision to reveal the news so early was likely because they wanted to explain why Kate was suddenly canceling appearances.
