Why ‘Outlander’ Fans Need To Watch The ‘White Princess’ Premiere

“Outlander” fans will get a new look at Season 3 Sunday night, but they’ll have to tune in to Starz’s new show. “The White Princess” is trying to bring in some “Outlander” audiences with an exclusive sneak peek.

Starz announced Thursday that a new “Outlander” Season 3 teaser will air before “The White Princess” premieres Sunday at 8 p.m. EDT. It’ll be the first official footage fans will see from the new season. The network revealed the news along with a new Season 3 photo of Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan).

“The White Princess” likely appeals to fans of the Scottish time travel drama. It’s also a historical drama based on a best-selling book with plenty of romance and drama.

Based on Philippa Gregory’s novel, “The White Princess follows the marriage of Elizabeth of York (Jodie Comer) and King Henry VII (Jacob Collins-Levy). They have their fair share of differences to begin with, but when rumors start flying that her brother Prince Richard is alive and taking the throne, Elizabeth is torn between her brother and her husband.

The series might be a good way for “Outlander” fans to get through Droughtlander (the nickname for the show’s hiatus). The drama is in the midst of its longest break ever. The Season 2 finale aired in July 2016, but “Outlander” Season 3 will not premiere until September.

Starz is keeping fans excited by releasing more promotional material. The network unveiled a new photo of Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Frank (Tobias Menzies) Thursday as well (seen below). The two are clearly in the 20th century, which is where Claire will be in the Season 3 premiere. Though she is determined to return to Jamie’s time after discovering he survived the Battle of Culloden, Claire will have to figure out how to get back first.
