‘World Of Dance’
Ian Eastwood and the Young Lions earns a spot in the cuts after winning over the Jabbawockeez in “World of Dance” Season 1. NBC

“World of Dance” Season 1 aired its first three-way battle for the season, and only one group made it to the next round.

On Tuesday night, award-winning dance group Jabbawockeez battled against Ian Eastwood and the Young Lions and Rogue for a spot in the cuts. However, the group did not rely on their old dance style and instead switched things up for the hit NBC reality TV competition. They receive an average score of 84.7 from judges Jennifer Lopez, Ne-Yo and Derek Hough.

Ian Eastwood and the Young Lions definitely didn’t back down. Despite their relatively low score in the auditions, the group made it to the duels since their average was 80.7 points. This could be the reason why they stepped up their game, earning themselves a score of 85.7. Their other competition, Rogue, only earned a score of 80 points and got eliminated along with the Jabbawockeez. But hopefully Lopez will follow through on her statement during auditions of wanting to bring Rogue with her on tour for her upcoming shows.

Other than the three-way battles, Luka and Jenalyn also won over DNA with an average score of 88.7. The latter earned only 80.3 points after the three judges noted that they weren’t as in sync as they were in the auditions. D’Angelo and Amanda, meanwhile, faced off against The Mihacevich Sisters. They received a score of 78.7, while the latter got a score of 81. It is quite shocking to see both dancers receive low scores since they were two of the top performers in the auditions.

Stroll Groove and Kinjaz were also pitted against each other, and the latter advanced to the cuts with a score of 91.3. The former only received 81.3.

Meanwhile, the upcoming episode will see all of the acts who made it to the cuts compete against each other and perform in front of professional ballet dancer Misty Copeland. Unfortunately, only half of these acts will make it to the divisional finals and only three dancers will make it to the world finals.

“World of Dance” Season 1 airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. EDT on NBC.
