‘World Of Dance’
Who will Ne-Yo, Jennifer Lopez and Derek Hough pick as the three representatives in the world finals of “World of Dance” Season 1? NBC

“World of Dance” Season 1 will see three contestants going home on Tuesday night’s episode.

In the teaser released by NBC for the divisional finals, all six remaining contestants are determined to represent their categories in the world finals. Unfortunately, only three of them will move on to the next round of the competition. Contemporary dancer and junior representative Eva Igo said she couldn’t believe that she made it very far in the competition. Her fellow junior representative, Diana Pombo, is very excited to show the world why she decided to pursue dancing.

Upper dancers Keone & Mari are ready to fight for their spot in the competition. They will be facing off with the Les Twins. The latter, who are renowned dancers in Paris, will be using a wheelchair as their prop. Two team dancers will also be competing for a chance to head to the world finals. Kinjaz and Swing Latino will perform routines of different genres. In the cuts, Kinjaz received a much higher score compared to Swing Latino.

Also in the 40-second teaser, judge and executive producer Jennifer Lopez praises one of the contestants. Igo, 14, ends up in tears, but it is still unclear whether or not Lopez made the comment about her performance.

After this week’s divisional finals episode, the top three scorers of the night will compete in the world finals. Next week, only one dancer from the junior, upper or team categories will bring home the $1 million grand prize. Those who did not make it very far in the competition could return to “World of Dance” Season 2 since NBC has already picked up this summer’s newest dance sensation program for another run.

In June, Lopez released a statement expressing her excitement over the show’s success. “I am so proud to not only star, but produce a show that is so close to my heart. I am so happy that ‘World of Dance’ has resonated with audiences and we are able to put dancers on the pedestal they deserve. I cannot wait to continue this journey and my partnership with NBC,” she said.

“World of Dance” Season 1 airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. EDT on NBC.
