The decapitated body of a 19-year-old girl, who was set to get married, was found in a village in India.

The incident took place in the northern state of Bihar. According to the police, the girl was brutally hacked to death before her marriage to Azad Kumar.

“Decapitated body of the teenage girl was found in the village. Her hands and legs were tied," a person close to the police, identified as S Paswan, told Times Now.

The victim's next-of-kin said the girl was murdered over her fiancé's affair with another woman. They claimed while Kumar was preparing to get married to the victim, he was also dating another woman. The identity of the woman with whom he had an affair was not revealed.

Her family said they had even given Azad and his family gifts worth more than $5,000 weeks before the wedding.

Authorities did not reveal if they have any suspects in the case. An investigation was underway into the incident, and it remains unclear when the girl was found dead. The police also did not reveal if the would-be-groom or his family were involved in the crime.

Last month, a teenager girl's father beheaded her because she was allegedly in a relationship with a person her dad did not approve of. The incident took place in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The accused, identified as Sarvesh Kumar, used a sharp-edged weapon to behead his 17-year-old daughter. Locals saw him walking on the street with the severed head and informed the police. Officers intercepted him mid-way and arrested him immediately. "I did it. There was no one else. I closed the latch and did it. The body is in the room," he said in a video recorded by police. The accused committed the crime after finding his daughter in a compromising position with her boyfriend.

In another incident, a 21-year-old man was arrested for killing his sister’s husband by chopping off his head in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The accused murdered the man because his sister was allegedly unhappy in the marriage.
