KEY POINTS

  • Brazil continues to have the best odds of taking home the 2022 World Cup trophy
  • Argentina, Brazil and Portugal are all expected to enter the semifinals
  • England upsetting France is a very big possibility

The 2022 World Cup fans are set to be treated to an exciting four-game matchup in the quarterfinals, and the betting odds for all eight teams are dictating who the favorites and underdogs are as they hope to enter the next round of competition.

DrafKings Sportsbook recently released updated odds for the World Cup title, considering the opponents they will face and their recent performance.

  • Brazil: plus-175
  • France: plus-400
  • Argentina: plus-550
  • England: plus-600
  • Portugal: plus-650
  • Netherlands: plus-1400
  • Croatia: plus-3500
  • Morocco: plus-3500

Netherlands vs. Argentina

The Netherlands booked themselves a spot after a masterful 3-1 defeat of the United States courtesy of the efforts of Memphis Depay, Daley Blind and Denzel Dumfries.

Going up against an Argentina squad that is feeling a sense of urgency to win the title since Lionel Messi is in the twilight of his career, the Dutch are going to have their hands full.

Saudi Arabia may have shocked the world by upsetting Argentina, but they have proven themselves capable of winning it all this year.

The lone problem for the Oranje is whether Depay and the emergent Cody Gakpo can get past Argentina's stout defense.

Prediction: Netherlands 1, Argentina 1, Argentina advances on penalties

Croatia vs. Brazil

Brazil is on an absolute tear in their quest for a sixth World Cup title after soundly beating South Korea, 4-1, in the previous round while a returning Neymar is set to make an already formidable attacking group featuring Vinicius Jr. and Richarlison even more ferocious.

For the Croatians, their road to the top does not get any easier. Facing the team with the best odds in the tournament would surely intimidate other squads, but not for a team that has Luka Modric in the midfield.

They will surely put up a tough fight for the full 90 minutes, but it is definitely hard to go against a Brazilian team hungry for its first title since 2002.

Prediction: Brazil 4, Croatia 2

England vs. France

This is the matchup that is likely to garner the most mainstream attention because everyone knows the faces and names on the England side, while France is hoping to become only the third team to go back-to-back in the World Cup.

Les Bleus has the benefit of having Kylian Mbappe turn into the global soccer tournament's best player with five goals and two assists to his name in just four games.

For "The Three Lions," they have had an impressive run thus far and are well-equipped to exploit France's defensive issues. However, it remains to be seen whether they can actually do it.

Prediction: England 2, France 2, England advances on penalties

Morocco vs. Portugal

Morocco made history as the first Arab team to reach the final eight in World Cup history after upsetting Spain on penalties.

Cinderella stories are not usually kind to the sports world and especially not when a team is facing an extremely talented team like Portugal.

Coming off a 6-1 rout of Switzerland despite Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench, Portugal's overall talent may simply be too much for Morocco to overcome.

Prediction: Portugal 3, Morocco 0

Cristiano Ronaldo will play his first game for Portugal on Thursday following his departure from Manchester United
