A 22-year-old man was killed and at least five other people were wounded in separate shootings that occurred across Chicago, Illinois, this weekend, according to police.

The deceased man, whose name was not disclosed, was shot shortly after 11:30 p.m. Friday in the Palmer Square neighborhood in the 2100 block of North Bingham Street, the Chicago Tribune reported.

The deceased was on the sidewalk when two men were arguing and began firing shots, striking the victim in the chest, according to preliminary information obtained by police. It is not clear if the victim knew the suspects.

The victim was brought to the Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Moments before this incident, another shooting occurred in the Pilsen neighborhood in the 900 block of West Cullerton Street, wounding three men.

According to police, the unidentified victims were involved in an exchange of gunfire with people in a red pick-up truck.

A 33-year-old man was wounded on the right arm, while the second man, 34, was shot in the buttocks. The third man, 47, suffered gunshot wounds to the body and was listed in critical condition at Stroger Hospital, where the other two victims were also taken for treatment, police said.

A third shooting happened shortly after 1:30 a.m. Saturday near the Oak Park and Chicago border in the 900 block of South Austin Boulevard, according to the outlet.

Authorities said that a 26-year-old woman, whose name was also not disclosed, was shot while she was driving northbound on Austin Boulevard. A person inside of a red sedan fired shots at the woman, hitting her in the back, police said.

The Chicago Fire Department paramedics came to the victim's aid and brought her to the Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. She was also listed in critical condition, according to authorities.

Police continue to investigate the shootings. No arrests have been made, and no potential motives have been announced as of this writing, CBS News reported.

The weekend violence in Chicago also saw a 38-year-old woman getting shot as she was standing outside in Humboldt Park's 800 block of North Ridgeway Avenue Sunday morning, ABC 7 reported.

The unnamed victim sustained gunshot wounds to her legs and was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition. The incident is still under investigation, and no arrests have been made so far.
