On Saturday night, "48 Hours" will cover the case of Daniel Green's murder. Green's ex-wife, Erika Sandoval, was the one behind the Feb. 6, 2015 crime. Now, a new episode of the popular true-crime show will take a deeper look at the case and Sandoval's true motive.

In a sneak peek of Saturday's episode, both Green and Sandoval's family members paint their own pictures of what they say transpired in the couple's "very toxic relationship."

Matthew Green, Daniel's brother, speaks about Sandoval in the preview of the upcoming installment. "When everything was going the way they should be in her eyes, she was pleasant to be around. It's only when things didn't go her way that she became nasty and things got ugly between the two of them," he says, adding, "From what I saw, the bad was really bad."

On the night of the 2015 murder, Sandoval admitted to climbing through a window to snoop around Green's home as she started to have concerns about her son's safety. Eventually, per her account, the confrontation occurred which resulted in his death.

Sandoval was accused of fatally shooting Green in the home that they once shared after he allegedly "said he was going to kill her and started to get up," reports ABC 30. At that moment, she fired a gun.

Throughout the course of her trial, Sandoval was always the main focus, as she had once admitted to being the one responsible for the crime, but the motive remained in question. According to her, domestic violence had occurred leading up to the 2015 slaying. This, she said, included Green grabbing her by the neck and dragging her down a hallway on various occasions. She also alleged that he had threatened to take their son away.

However, the prosecution presented a different reason for her actions. At her trial, they showed a photo that Sandoval's ex-husband had posted to his social media following their divorce of him alongside his new girlfriend. Was her "plain jealousy" the last straw?

In the new episode, viewers will get to hear the various family members each discuss the events in order to be able to make their own judgments regarding Sandoval.

This episode of "48 Hours" will air Saturday, Dec. 7 at 10:00 p.m. EST on CBS.
