A 6-year-old girl in India was stoned to death by three minor boys after she refused to watch a porn video with them, the police said Wednesday.

The accused, aged between eight and 11, were arrested in connection to the death of the child. The arrests came a day after the girl's body was found in a toilet in a stone quarry Tuesday in the eastern state of Assam.

“Unfortunate murder of 6 year old girl at Missa, Kaliabor solved within 24 hours. 3 juveniles, 1 adult arrested,” Nagaon police tweeted from their official handle Wednesday evening. "Accused aged between 8 and 11 are porn addicts capable of conspiracy and gruesome execution of a dastardly crime. Seems it’s time for introspection and social intervention."

Local reports said the three minor boys lived near the victim’s home and used to watch pornographic clips on their mobiles. On Tuesday, they lured the victim to the quarry where they forced her to watch the clips with them. When she refused, they killed her with stones.

“It is a very unfortunate incident. Two of the accused are 11-year-old and one 8-year-old. The juveniles used to watch pornography on mobile of the adult who is the father of one of the three. We have seized the phone which was full of pornographic clips,” Nagaon senior police officer Anand Mishra told reporters, according to the Hindustan Times.

The girl's body was sent for an autopsy, and the doctors confirmed she was hit on her head and chest with a stone-like object. Investigators and doctors said there was no sexual assault.

During preliminary investigation, the police found the stone quarry had not been operational for a long time. A watchman lived with his family right opposite the stone crusher, which was also close to the victim's house, East Mojo reported. Initially, the police suspected the watchman was involved in the crime. It was later found that his youngest son was one of the accused.

“We have done old-school policing, there was no scientific investigation as such. We interrogated each and every person related to the case and their statements did not seem to add up and that was when we figured out that they were lying and they knew what had happened, after which the father confessed that his son had committed the crime,” a senior police officer said.
