Rapper 6ix9ine was denied bail on Monday after being arrested on six counts of criminal charges including assault with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy murder charges, and racketeering for his involvement with the Trey Nine Gangster Bloods.

It is possible that 6ix9ine will be behind bars for a while as his trial date was set for Sept. 4, 2019, according to Billboard. A pre-trial conference has been scheduled for Jan. 22, 2019, the news outlet also reported.

6ix9ine’s lawyer, Lance Lazzaro,did argue for his release by offering the rapper’s passport, $1.7 million to the court, and house arrest until the trial. Judge Henry Pitmaneven maintained that he could not look past the risk that 6ix9ine poses to society if he was released, according to Billboard.

Also, implicated in the crimes is Shotti, Ish, and Crippy. Shotti, 6ix9ine’s former manager, is facing the same six counts as the rapper, according to TMZ. 6ix9ine did plead not guilty to the RICO charges against him, the news outlet also reported.

6ix9ine was arrested by ATF agents and Homeland Security on Nov. 18 and was held in the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center, where he was then moved to a federal facility for safety reasons, according to Billboard.
