“90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days” Season 4 has been filled with questions about the authenticity behind certain relationships. On the latest episodes of the TLC series, the compatibility between Ed “Big Ed” Brown and Rosemarie “Rose” Vega has been a topic of discussion among viewers.

Ed, 54, took a trip to the Philippines to meet Rose, 23, and see if they could have a future together. However, Ed struggled to adjust to his new environment, and Rose’s living conditions.

During an appearance on the Saturday, May 9, episode of “The Night Time Show” podcast, he opened about how the couple was able to move past the age difference in their relationship.

“The first conversation we had was, ‘Look, Rose, I’m 54. I’m old enough to be your dad.’ And she’s like, ‘Well, you’re actually one year older than my dad,’” he revealed.

“And I’m like ‘Oh, my God, so great, let’s just be friends.’ And she’s like ‘No, age is just a number.’ I’ll never forget that. You know, age is just a number. … I never thought of her as this young girl. She just became this single mother that I wanted to help.”

While viewers may not be able to understand their relationship, Ed claimed he and Rose have an unexplainable attraction to one another. “I went and bought a fricking [plane] ticket. I didn’t even have authorization for time off. I don’t care, I bought the ticket, and I’m going. I don’t care what anybody says,” he shared.

However, his decision did not sit with his ex-wife and daughter, who are fans of the TLC series. “My daughter and my ex-wife, they were ‘90 Day Fiancé’ people. They watch every episode,” he explained.

“So right away when I told my daughter, ‘Hey I’m thinking about doing this show,’ she’s like, ‘You’re an idiot,’ and she hung up on me.”

Although Ed was able to salvage his relationship with his daughter, his relationship status with Rose remains unclear.

Last week, she announced she was launching a YouTube page and planned to “speak the truth” about herself.

The star shared a promotional poster that read, “I might be poor, but I am raised to always tell the truth and be respectful of others! But I also know when enough is enough.”

“Watch me as I speak the truth soon!” the image stated.
