Zlata Ibrahimovic of AC Milan could be a big addition for Sweden in international competitions if he would see action once more.

That possibility cropped up recently when the 39-year-old put up a cryptic post on social media. It turns out that most read it wrong.

Ibrahimovic shed more light on the subject after his club’s 2-2- draw with Hellas Verona in Serie A action. After scoring an injury-time equalizer, the Swedish national revealed that the intent of that post was not to tease a return but to irritate unnamed people over in Sweden, Sky Sport Italia reported.

“No, I was just trying to irritate people in Sweden,” Ibrahimovic said of the Instagram post.

With Ibrahimovic turning in a fine performance for I Rossoneri, speculation grew that he could be returning to join the Swedish national team.

He last suited up for the team in 2016. The closest thing to a return to international duty came when he flirted with the idea of accepting a call to don the country's colors during the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Ibrahimovic has been making a good account of himself with AC Milan so far. He has eight goals to his credit in five Serie A appearances as of this writing.

Despite concerns about his age, there is no doubt that Ibrahimovic could provide Sweden a lift.

They have lost four of their five matches so far. However, no less than manager Janne Andersson shot this possibility down and urged pundits not to delve much on the photo shared by the Swedish striker, Aftonbadlet reported.

"There were some people who told me there was a plan behind that photo. But I don't understand what it means, it’s beyond me. I won't waste too much energy on it," Andersson explained.

Though he has the utmost regard for Ibrahimovic, Andersson pointed out that it has been almost four years since the Swedish footballer wrapped up his career with Sweden.

He also stressed that any player who returns to play for the national team needs to play at the highest level possible.

“If, on the other hand, you are part of the national team, you have to return to your country and play at the highest level again. I fully respect those who don't feel this motivation 100 percent. So, the matter is closed for me," Andersson clarified.
