Miranda Lambert has revealed why she loves having her husband, Brendan McLoughlin, by her side during red carpet events.

Ahead of the 56th Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards, Lambert, 37, shared in an interview with People that her retired New York Police officer partner, 29, enjoys the process of attending flashy events more than she does.

"Brendan was holding the jackets and the guitar case today, poor thing. I'm like, 'Hey, thanks for coming to the ACMs, can you make me another drink?'" the country music star joked during ACM Awards rehearsals. "He loves it, actually. He's super glam, like he's one of these 'Dapper Dan' type dudes."

"He likes the whole glam part of it more than I do, so I think he's a little sad that we're not doing the whole real show thing with the red carpet, but I'm sure he'll still show up in a tailored jacket," she added.

With the ongoing pandemic forcing artists to reduce their entourage for events, Lambert's husband often needs to provide extra assistance when she attends shows. However, this is apparently not an issue for him, and the "Bluebird" star praised her husband for being a "fun" companion no matter what they do.

"When we're out here, like today, me and my manager always say we are our people, but especially right now during COVID, because you don't get any credentials," Lambert added. "So like everyone does everything — I mean all hands on deck. But Brendan's a trouper. He's just fun, and he's a great date, no matter what we're doing."

Lambert is the most decorated artist in the history of the ACM and is up for another four trophies this year, People noted. She said McLoughlin gives her new joy over the event because he doesn't know much about country music so he is "kind of bright-eyed and excited and ready to have fun."

Lambert and McLoughlin met on Nov. 2, 2018, and got married in January 2019, just nearly three months after they started dating, Us Weekly reported. In February 2019, Blake Shelton's ex-wife announced that they had tied the knot in secret by sharing wedding photos to celebrate Valentine's Day.

"In honor of Valentine’s Day I wanted to share some news. I met the love of my life. And we got hitched! My heart is full. Thank you Brendan Mcloughlin for loving me for.... me. #theone," Lambert wrote on Instagram.
