Adele has nothing but praise and gratitude for her ex-husband Simon Konecki and the impact he's had on her despite their divorce.

The "Easy on Me" singer got candid about her ex and their high-profile divorce when she sat down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey in the host's famed rose garden during the British superstar's new "Adele One Night Only" special.

Adele explained that that the stability that she found when she met Konecki, and later had her son Angelo, "probably saved [her] life."

"He came at such a moment, where the stability that he and Angelo have given me, no one else would ever have been able to give me," she was quoted by Entertainment Tonight as saying.

The singer reflected on her meteoric rise to fame, saying that she believes she would have gotten "a bit lost in all of it" if not for Konecki and their now-9-year-old son.

Adele also noted that she "could've easily gone down some dodgy paths, [or been] sort of self-destructive from being so overwhelmed by all of it."

"He came in and was stable. The most stable person I've ever had in my life up until that point. Even now, I trust him with my life," she continued, adding that Konecki and Angelo were "angels sent to me, that's how I feel."

The "Hello" singer also admitted to Winfrey that the most difficult part of their divorce was explaining why they had to part ways to their son.

"Trying to explain to a 6-year-old, 'I do love [your dad], I'm not not in love with him,' it makes absolutely no sense to a 6-year-old," Adele said. "So there were so many answers I just couldn't give him 'cause there aren't any really. Like, you know, that he would understand."

Adele and Konecki went public with their romance in January 2012. Six months later, the Grammy winner announced that they were welcoming a little one.

In 2017, they were spotted wearing wedding bands. Adele confirmed in March of that year that they had tied the knot. However, less than two years after they exchanged "I do's," she filed for divorce. The exes finalized their divorce earlier this year, Us Weekly reported.

Adele has since moved on with her new boyfriend, sports agents Rich Paul. During her chat with Winfrey, she gushed over his sense of humor and praised him for being "hilarious" and "very smart."

Speaking about their relationship, Adele said it is the first time she's "loved myself and been open to loving and being loved by someone else." According to her, their relationship has been "very smooth."
