  • The latest episode of AEW Dynamite was filmed on Tuesday at the Chris Jericho "Rock 'n' Wrestling Rager at Sea: Part Deux" in the Bahamas
  • Two master recordings were flown back on two separate planes to ensure one arrived in Atlanta for editing to meet Wednesday's 8 p.m. airtime
  • Cody confirmed AEW will attempt to film next year's episode of Dynamite from the cruise live

All Elite Wrestling took extreme measures to ensure Wednesday’s edition of AEW Dynamite filmed during “Chris Jericho’s Rock ‘n’ Wrestling Rager at Sea: Part Deux” arrived in the Atlanta to be edited and ready for air.

The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer said during a recent edition of “Wrestling Observer Radio” that AEW planned ahead to have two master recordings of the pre-taped show ready for be flown back to the U.S. from the Bahamas on Tuesday. Each would be sent separate planes to ensure a copy of the show was back at the TNT studios in Atlanta for editing so the show can make its normal Wednesday airtime of 8 p.m.

“They got two airplanes taking the tapes back,” Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez said. Meltzer followed up, saying it was “in case one of the airlines doesn’t make it home.”

Wednesday’s edition will be the first taped episode of the show since Dynamite debuted on TNT back on Oct. 2. This was largely due to the constraints presented for filming on the Norwegian Pearl cruise ship hosting the weeklong event that started on Monday.

The matches set to air for the special episode include a no. 1 contender’s match for the AEW Championship between Jon Moxley and PAC, SCU vs. Kenny Omega and Hangman Page for the AEW World Tag Team Championship, and the Jurassic Express vs. Chris Jericho, Santana, and Ortiz.

Meltzer also said Cody surprised the fans after the taping with a special announcement regarding the next Chris Jericho cruise in 2021.

“It went off the air and then Cody came out,” Meltzer said. “Cody talked about the dates of the cruise next year and said ‘I’ve already got it confirmed next year AEW is gonna be part of this ship again’ everybody’s cheering like crazy. Then he says, ‘Next year we’re going live.’ No two airplanes — they are going live.”
