Manchester United reportedly are planning to sign Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi, who is also in the target list of other big clubs such as Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

Ahead of the summer transfer window, Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to strengthen his squad and after the failed deal of Jadon Sancho, the Red Devils are looking at other options.

After spending two years at Ghenk, Ndidi moved to Leicester in 2017, where he replaced N’Golo Kante after the latter was sold to Chelsea. Having appeared in 111 games for the former Premier League champions, Ndidi has played a key role, especially in the success that Leicester have enjoyed under Brendan Rodgers this season.

Soon after the season was suspended earlier this year due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, Man Utd showed a passing interest in Ndidi, who had also caught the attention of Real and PSG.

However, the 21-year-old Nigerian had rubbished the talks at that time citing his contract with Leicester that will expire only in 2024.

“I still have a contract at Leicester. I am learning and trying to improve myself every day and I’m doing okay here so no need to go anywhere. We are doing well and I’m enjoying myself here,” Ndidi, who has scored two goals so far in 2019-20 season, said in an interview.

The Teamtalk has reported that Man Utd are showing more than passing interest in Ndidi currently, who could cost them at least $62 million. It is understood that Solskjaer is more eager to sign Ajax’s Donny van de Beek, who is being regarded as Paul Pogba’s alternative by the Man Utd manager. If van de Beek’s deal falls through during the summer transfer market, Man Utd would surely knock Leicester’s door in regards to Ndidi’s move to Old Trafford.

Moreover, Man Utd’s top target currently is Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish, who is not expected to come for cheap. Man Utd are willing to shell out $93 million for Grealish, who has scored nine goals in 31 matches this season.
