  • Alex Rodriguez was seen having dinner with Marc Lore after the event
  • Rodriguez and Lore are said to purchase Minnesota's NBA franchise
  • The former athlete has reportedly been focusing on work and family since the split

Alex Rodriguez was reportedly sighted at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame ceremony in Springfield, Massachusetts, Saturday amid reports of his ex-fiancée Jennifer Lopez spending quality time with Ben Affleck in Montana.

It was a huge night for the Timberwolves franchise after Tim Duncan, ex-team star Kevin Garnett and the late Lakers legend Kobe Bryant were chosen as some of the honorees at this year's event. The hall of fame ceremony highlighted Kobe's widow, Vanessa Bryant, who made an emotional tribute to the basketball icon.

After the event, the new Timberwolves owner was spotted having dinner at TAO Restaurant at Mohen Sun in Connecticut with business partner Marc Lore, who was celebrating his 50th birthday at the time. Rodriguez was also seen having a great time with Lore's family and some Timberwolves executives, reported PageSix.

Rodriguez, along with Lore, Walmart U.S. eCommerce's former CEO, is said to be buying Minnesota's NBA franchise. It is worth noting, however, that the deal would still need the approval of the NBA owners.

Meanwhile, an unnamed source told the publication that Alex Rodriguez has been concentrating on work and his family since his shocking split with Jennifer Lopez in March. The former lovebirds got engaged in 2019.

Rodriguez and Lopez had numerous unresolved issues which eventually caused their breakup, an identified insider told People. "She insisted on it. There are too many issues that are unresolved. She's been pretty miserable and didn't think it was in her best interests to stay with Alex," a pal of the "On the Floor" singer claimed.

A few months after their split, Rodriguez made it to the headlines again when his ex-ladylove was reported to have reunited with Ben Affleck.

Another tipster told the entertainment outlet that Lopez and Affleck had spent several days with each other out of town and added that Rodriguez's former sweetheart was happy to have Affleck around since they had a strong connection. The two were reportedly spotted arriving back in Los Angeles on May 8 on a private jet.

When asked about his thoughts on the reports about Lopez and Affleck's reunion, Rodriguez simply said, "Go Yankees."

Other reports claimed that the former athlete was shocked that the "Let's Get Loud" singer has already moved on since he reportedly thought they would be able to make things work again and reconnect.
