Alex Rodriguez "wasn't thrilled" when he learned that his ex-fiancée Jennifer Lopez has been spending time with her other former fiancé, Ben Affleck, a report has said.

Lopez and Affleck have been hanging out after her split from the former baseball shortstop. As for Rodriguez's reaction to their reunion, an unnamed insider told People the ex-MLB star "was pretty surprised" when he heard that the "Batman v Superman" star was spotted at her Los Angeles home and that they went on a trip to Montana over the Mother's Day weekend.

"Alex is not thrilled," the source told the outlet. "It definitely hurt his ego."

Meanwhile, another insider said that Rodriguez had been hoping that he and Lopez would eventually get back together.

"Alex was jealous that Jen and Ben were seeing each other," the source told Us Weekly. "He’s still holding out hope they can reconcile."

Rodriguez was under the impression that he and his ex would remain amicable after they called off their two-year engagement last month, according to People's source. However, Lopez reportedly cut him off because he was "acting so needy."

Earlier this week, Rodriguez was asked about Lopez going on vacation with Affleck when the former MLB star met up with Stevie Mackey, his ex's longtime voice coach and close friend, at a Miami restaurant. However, Rodriguez didn't give a straight response and instead just said, "Go Yankees."

Us Weekly noted that he could simply be saying that since he played for the Bronx Bombers from 2004 to 2016. However, others felt that his words were a dig at Affleck, who is a passionate fan of the Boston Red Sox, the Yankees' biggest rival.

Lopez and Rodriguez announced last month that they've called it quits after four years together. They released a joint statement saying they were better as friends and that they would continue to work together on their joint business ventures.

"We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects," the exes said. "We wish the best for each other and one another's children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have is to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support."

Meanwhile, Lopez reportedly "has feelings" Affleck, whom she dated and got engaged to between 2002 and 2004. However, an insider told Us Weekly that the pop diva does not want to rush into anything romantic.

"[She] has feelings for Ben. They are taking it slowly, but things are moving in a romantic direction," the source told the outlet. "She is focused on her kids and she’s working in Miami."
