Amal and George Clooney embarked on a road trip to explore the Italian countryside last week. The famous couple are on an extended vacation at their estate at Lake Como in Italy. The couple traveled across Tuscany, visiting the small towns of Chianti, Poggio and Cortona along the way.

The Clooneys toured the Chianti hills on an vintage Vespa Piaggio and in a 1960s Fiat 500. The Hollywood heartthrob and his human rights lawyer wife had dinner at the Il Falconiere restaurant in the Luxury Realais Il Falconiere & Spa resort, near the historic town of Cortona Thursday. They ate alfresco under olive trees, ordering homemade pappardelle with eggplant and tomato sauce, and tomatoes stuffed with Neapolitan buffala mozzarella. George also enjoyed a fresh and locally sourced vegetable omelette, People reported.

During a stopover Tuesday, they grabbed a late lunch at the Locanda di Pietracupa restaurant in San Donato in Poggio. The A-list couple reportedly ordered eggplant medallion and a nest of saffron and porcini rice appetizers. Amal dined on homemade pasta with hot tomato sauce, paired with a single glass of red Chianti Classico.

“It sounds cheesy because he really is a movie star, but they looked like a scene out of a romantic movie. Both incredibly good-looking,” a waiter said. He added she was elegant in all her movements. They held hands and also leaned for a kiss.

The waiter said the actor was dressed down, while his wife wore a sleeveless white ensemble. Amal Clooney’s brocade dress was by Giambattista Valli and featured floral patterns on the skirt and the neckline. The barrister paired it with a straw sun hat and a brown satchel. Meanwhile, the pair visited the Montebernardi wine estate in Panzano in Chianti, a small village in Tuscany’s winemaking region on Monday. After visiting the 130-acre estate, the pair was spotted dining at the Cantinetta di Rignana tavern in the town of Greve in Chianti. Earlier, the Clooneys were spotted cozying up for a sunny motorbike ride in Laglio on Lake Como in Italy.
