“American Horror Story: Freak Show” is gearing up to be the spookiest installment of the FX mini-series yet. The network released the official description for Season 4, putting excited fans in frenzy for the Oct. 8 premiere.

It was previously reported that “Freak Show” would be set in Jupiter, Florida in the 1950s, and follow one of the last U.S. freak shows in existence. Now some further details have been released, shedding more light on the haunting tale to come.

According to the synopsis, “American Horror Story” Season 4 will be set in specifically in 1952. Jupiter, Florida is described as a “quiet, sleepy hamlet.” However it won’t stay that way for long.

“A troupe of curiosities has just arrived to town, coinciding with the strange emergence of a dark entity that savagely threatens the lives of townsfolk and freaks alike,” teases the official description. “This is the story of the performers and their desperate journey of survival amidst the dying world of the American Carny experience.”

“Freak Show” will feature “American Horror Story” alumni Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Gabourey Sidibe, Frances Conroy and Kathy Bates. Newcomers include John Carroll Lynch, Michael Chiklis, Wes Bentley, Patti LaBelle, and Jyoti Amge, the world’s smallest woman.

The Season 4 synopsis comes on the heels of the first official teaser trailer for “Freak Show.” Titled, “Admit One,” the promo video treated fans to a peek at a crusty looking, four-fingered hand with long, pointed nails. The hand opened up to reveal a ticket for the freak show. Watch the video below:
