"American Horror Story: Freak Show" will reportedly return to FX for its fourth season on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 10 p.m. EDT. FX

Prepare thyself – the Season 4 premiere date for FX’s hit mini-series, “American Horror Story,” has reportedly been released. A press release from SpoilerTV obtained from FX Canada reveals that the fourth installment in the franchise is set to premiere on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 10 p.m. ET.

Season 4, titled, “Freak Show,” will take viewers to 1950s Juniper, FL., to tell the tale of “one of the last remaining freak shows of the time.” The press release teases the following: “From bearded ladies to Siamese twins, ‘Freak Show’ features some of the series’ most familiar faces.”

Jessica Lange – Jessica Lange, 65, has played an aging southern belle, a troubled nun, and most recently the “supreme” witch. In Season 4 of “American Horror Story” she’ll be tackling the role of Elsa Mars, a German ex-pat running one of the last freak shows.

Kathy Bates – Academy Award winner Kathy Bates, 66, will be returning for her second season of the FX mini-series. Playing a historical figure named Madame LaLaurie in Season 3, the actress will now be portraying Effil Darling, a performer in Elsa Mars’s freak show.

Angela Bassett – Bassett, like Bates, is also returning for her sophomore season. The 55-year-old will be playing Desiree Dupree.

Sarah Paulson – “American Horror Story” vet Sarah Paulson may be tackling her most difficult role yet on the FX mini-series. The 39-year-old will be playing Siamese twins Bette and Dot Tattler.

Evan Peters – With “American Horror Story” from its start in 2011, Evan Peters will be joining Season 4 as Jimmy Darling. The 27-year-old’s character is a performer in the freak show and son of Kathy Bates’ Effil Darling.

Emma Roberts – Returning for her second season, the 23-year-old will be ditching her bad girl witch ways to play a mysterious character named Maggie.

Michael Chiklis – Newcomer to “American Horror Story” is 50-year-old Michael Chiklis. “The Shield” alum will be starring as Wendell Del Toredo, a strong man in the freak show.

John Carroll Lynch – “Fargo” actress John Carroll Lynch is new to “American Horror Story” but will certainly be making a splash. The 51-year-old will be tackling a currently unnamed “core villain” in Season 4.

Other stars appearing in “American Horror Story: Freak Show” include Patti LaBelle, Finn Wittrock, Wes Bentley, Gabourey Sidibe, Denis O’Hare and Frances Conroy. “American Horror Story” co-creator Ryan Murphy also revealed on Aug. 13 that Jyoti Amge, the world’s smallest woman, would be joining Season 4.
