‘America’s Got Talent’
Could Angelica Hale become this season’s winner in “America’s Got Talent?” NBC

“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 will see Angelica Hale and Celine Tam facing off against each other in the semifinals.

The two contestants are within the same age range and also happen to be singers. Hale touched everyone’s hearts during her audition not only because of her angelic singing voice, but also because of her story. At a young age, Hale received a kidney transplant from her mom. She is also a sepsis survivor.

Following her audition, Hale received four yeses from judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel. However, none of them gave her a golden buzzer at the time. But in the judge cuts round, Hale moved guest judge Chris Hardwick, thus she received his golden buzzer.

In the quarterfinals, Hale surprised everyone with a stunning rendition of Zedd’s hit song, “Clarity.” She successfully made it past that round with the help of voters.

Tam, on the other hand, impressed the judges with her cute appearance and powerful voice. She became one of the most talked about singers in “America’s Got Talent” this season after she revealed that she and her younger sister were named after Celine Dion.

Following her audition, Tam also received four yeses from the judges, but not a golden buzzer. In the judge cuts round, “Orange is the New Black” star Laverne Cox was so impressed by her that she gave her the precious reward. However, Tam received a slew of mixed comments from the judges after her performance in the quarterfinals. Luckily for her, America voted to keep her in the competition and send her to the semifinals.

Hale and Tam are just two of the 10 contestants who will take the Dolby Theater stage once again. They will be joined by dog act Pompeyo Family, dance troupe Diavolo, Light Balance dancers, mind reader Colin Cloud, singers Kechi Okwuchi, Mandy Harvey, Christian Guardino and robotic dancer Merrick Hanna, who will all be fighting for a spot in the grand finals. Out of the 11 that will perform, only five will make it through to the next round.

“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 will air an hour later on Tuesday and Wednesday at 9 p.m. EDT on NBC.
