'Among Us' PS4, PS5 Release Date Leaks On PlayStation Database

"Among Us" fans who own Sony's PS4 and PS5 would not have to wait much longer to get their hands on the hit online multiplayer social deduction title if the latest details uncovered in PlayStation's database are anything to go by.

Industry insider PlayStationSize on Sunday tweeted that "Among Us" is currently available in the database with the release date listed as Aug. 31. This seemingly offers fans a confirmation that the game would launch on the said date.

The insider is known for providing credible information as they keeps track of update files on PlayStation. Interestingly, it appears that the insider is not 100% certain of this release date and toyed with the possibility that it could be a placeholder. Aug. 31 falls on a Tuesday, which happens to be the day of the week in which games are usually released, particularly PlayStation titles.

Innersloth officially announced the PlayStation version of "Among Us" in April. The game developer also revealed some details as to what the game's release on the gaming platform would mean to Sony's consoles owners. Innersloth announced that the PlayStation release would include a special skin for crewmates.

This will allow players to look like the iconic Ratchet in the hit game "Ratchet & Clank." Moreover, PlayStation players will also get Clank, which will serve as a pet that accompanies them. Aside from PlayStation, fans are also expecting that the Xbox port of the game would release sooner rather than later.

"Among Us" was one of the games that Microsoft showcased at its recent Xbox E3 2021 event.

There is a great possibility that "Among Us" could arrive on PlayStation and Xbox gaming consoles on Aug. 31. However, in the absence of an official announcement from Innersloth, fans should temper their expectations about the game's PlayStation port. Although the details were uncovered on PlayStation's database, at this stage the game's release date is highly speculative.
