KEY POINTS

  • "Among Us" is available on PC, Switch, iOS and Android devices
  • Scientist and Sheriff roles will soon be introduced to the game
  • It will also get a new game mode called Hide and Seek

Innersloth, the team behind the hit online multiplayer social deduction game "Among Us," has announced a plethora of surprises players can look forward to in the title. But there's a catch.

Innersloth confirmed a myriad of new content and features for "Among Us" at the Summer Game Fest Kickoff Live Thursday. These include a new game mode called Hide and Seek, visor cosmetics, achievements and a fifth map. Unfortunately, the gaming studio did not reveal the release date of any of the new content, leaving fans puzzled.

Moreover, the developer shared a blog post containing all the features and new content it plans to roll out to the game. According to Innersloth, it would release the game's next big update that would support up to 15 players. This would allow for bigger games than what players can have at the moment, which has a limit of 10 participants.

Innersloth said it would also introduce new player colors, including Rose, Tan, Gray, Banana, Coral and more. Fans could also expect a "slight graphics update" and support for the mobile controller.

As for the major news revealed during the Summer Game Fest, it's the fact that the title is getting a new game mode. It looks like in Hide and Seek mode, seekers would be assigned a very small radius in which they could see other players.

However, this is not the only major gameplay change Innersloth revealed during the event. According to the developer, it would add several new roles to the game very soon, including the Scientist and Sheriff roles.

The team behind "Among Us" is also working on account linking between platforms and, more importantly, the top-secret fifth map. Innersloth only showed a button in the video, so even if it's a clue, it is quite hard to say what it means.

Although the release details of these exciting content and features remain unknown, Innersloth promised to give fans an update once it's ready to share additional information.

"Among Us" is available on PC, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android devices.
