Amy Winehouse Dad to Publish Memoir About His Late Daughter

Amy Winehouse's dad is going to publish a memoir about his late daughter.

Mitch Winehouse has a book deal with HarperCollins, and the book will come out in the summer of 2012, The Associated Press reported.

The book is titled Amy, My Daughter, The AP reported.

I feel that I need to write this book to tell the true story of Amy and to help with my personal recovery, Winehouse said, The Irish Times reported.

He said all proceeds from the book will go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, The Irish Times reported.

The foundation works to support charitable activities in both the UK and abroad that provide help, support or care for young people, especially those who are in need by reason of ill health, disability, ?nancial disadvantage or addiction, according to the organization's Web site.

I believe that through Amy's music, her foundation, and this book, her name will live forever, Winehouse said.

Harper Non-Fiction editorial director Nick Canham commented on the upcoming memoir.

The strength Mitch Winehouse has shown over recent months is truly admirable, Canham said, The Irish Times reported. His desire to create a definitive account of Amy's life, that will solely benefit the foundation he has established in her name, is something that we are incredibly proud to be part of.
