Angelina Jolie struggled to hold back her tears after she sent off her son, Maddox, to the Yonsei University in South Korea.

In a clip uploaded via Instagram, Jolie is talking to a group of people at the university while her son is standing by her side. The actress admitted to feeling a tad bit emotional to send her eldest son to another country for his college education.

But Jolie also expressed how proud she is of Maddox. The “Maleficent” star revealed that she and her son have been in Seoul, South Korea for quite some time while Maddox is settling down in his new school.

Jolie also posed for a photo with the group as Maddox looked on. The 18-year-old son of Jolie and Brad Pitt seems to have a very shy demeanor.

A source previously told Entertainment Tonight that Maddox also passed his entrance exams at other universities, but he ultimately chose to study at Yonsei. He has also been learning how to speak Korean.

Maddox also celebrated his 18th birthday recently, and another source said that Jolie is very proud of her son.

“She loves him and is so proud of how wise he is beyond his years. She has encouraged him to travel nonstop, to learn many languages, and now has plans for him to go to university overseas… Maddox is very attached to his mom... She's always stood by him,” the source said.

Several years ago, Maddox also made headlines after it was revealed that he stood by his mom side amid Jolie and Pitt’s divorce. In fact, Maddox reportedly got into an altercation with his dad, and this was one of the reasons why Jolie decided to divorce the “Ad Astra” star.

A source previously said that Maddox never felt like he's Pitt’s son because they never had a close relationship with each other. And a tabloid also claimed that if it were up to the teenager, he would cut ties with Pitt for good.
