Apple has officially announced that it will be holding a launch event on March 21. Rumors suggest that the company will be unveiling a smaller version of the iPad Pro that is dubbed as 9.7-inch iPad Pro or iPad Pro Mini. A leakster has revealed several images of iPad Pro Mini case that have surfaced just before the March 21 launch event.

Popular leakster, Steve Hemmerstoffer has revealed leaked photos of an iPad Air 3 case with a dummy inside. It shows that the upcoming tablet will be coming with quad speakers and a Smart Connector for connecting a keyboard. The case also features a bigger cutout for the rear camera at the top corner that may accommodate a camera flash.

As far as the rumored specs of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro is concerned, it is expected to be powered by Apple A9X SoC and 4 GB of RAM. The same chipset and RAM combination is present under the hood of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

iPad fans were expecting Apple to announce iPad Air 3 during the launch event in September 2015. However, the company did not make any announcement on a successor model for iPad Air 2. Since then the rumor mill has been claiming that Apple would be unleashing iPad Air 3 at the next launch event.

However, recent speculations have suggested that the rumored tablet will be coming with specs that are similar to the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Hence, the rumor mill is calling it as the mini version of iPad Pro with 9.7-inch screen.

Even though Apple has declared about its upcoming launch event, there is no confirmation on whether it will be introducing iPad Pro Mini. The Cupertino is heavily pegged to unleash a 4-inch edition of iPhone called iPhone SE and new band options for the Apple Watch on March 21.
