Apple is expected to launch a 4-inch iPhone in March 2016. Unlike previous rumors that suggested that it would arrive with iPhone 7C or iPhone 6C moniker, fresh information coming from China has revealed that it will be launched as Apple iPhone 5e.

According to Cult of Mac that cites information from MyDrivers (a Chinese site), the 4-inch iPhone will be released as iPhone 5e. It has revealed that the "e" stands for “enhanced.” It indicates that the upcoming iPhone 5e will be an enhanced edition of the iPhone 5S.

The Apple iPhone 5e that will arrive with a 4-inch screen will be fueled by Apple A8 chipset and 1 GB of RAM. It will also feature a fingerprint scanner to support Apple Pay. Other features of the iPhone 5e include 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 storage options, 8-megapixel camera, NFC and VoLTE. It will be equipped with a 1642 mAh battery.

Since the iPhone 5e will be arriving with a full-metal design, it will appear like an iPod Touch with calling feature. Early speculations suggest that it will be available in vibrant colors such as space gray, silver, gold, rose gold, blue and pink.

Currently, the iPhone 5e is said to be under construction with Foxconn factories. Since Apple will be aiming to increase the user base of Apple Pay towards developing markets like China and India, it will be launched with an affordable pricing. Rumors indicate that it will be available for about $500, Phone Arena reported.

Apple is expected to organize an unveil event in March to showcase several products such as Apple iPhone 5e, Apple iPad Air 3, and Apple Watch 2. However, the Cupertino company has not confirmed any information on the upcoming rumored products. After announcing the iPhone 5e in March, it will be made available for buyers by April.
