The Apple Watch is mostly known to be a smartwatch with its own apps and features. However, it’s easy to forget that its apps also have data that could be backed up if needed in the future. So, here’s a quick guide on how to back up the Apple Watch’s data.

Apple’s smartwatch automatically saves the backup data for its installed apps everyday which is a treat for many users. The Apple Watch also has a way to force it to save backup data immediately.

The data collected for the apps can be be checked under the My Watch app and the My Faces menus. If the Apple Watch is paired with an iPhone, it’ll show the changes on the iPhone, too. As the settings change by the second, the backup data are made.

Forcing a backup on the Apple Watch is a possible yet tedious process due to its length and the need to unpair with an iPhone device. Once it’s decided that a backup data needs to be forced, proceed to the iOS Apple Watch app on your iPhone.

Choose the MyWatch tab and tap the Watch name on the top of the menus. Once inside, tap the “i” button next to the watch. Lastly, tap on the Unpair Apple Watch to start the backup process. Make sure to keep any cellular plan offers attached to keep using it since the process is only done for the backup. Once all of this is confirmed, the Apple Watch will now force a backup but may take some time

Using the backup would require the users to pair it to the iPhone once again. The backup saved on the iPhone would help restore the Apple Watch back to good as new again.
