Wild game burgers are definitely becoming an enduring menu option in mainstream restaurants. And now, sandwich chain Arby’s will begin testing a new venison meat sandwich at select Arby’s locations.

The restaurant, known for its roast beef sandwiches and Angus steak sandwiches, announced its new “100 percent deer meat” sandwich Tuesday. The $5 venison sandwich will include a thick venison steak and come with crispy onions and berry sauce, sandwiched between a toasted roll.

The sandwich will be available for a limited time only as part of a promotional campaign the company has launched, aptly named, “It’s Meat Season.” “Bringing venison to our menu also allows us to continue to set ourselves apart from the competition when it comes to proteins,” Arby’s brand president and chief marketing officer Roby Lynch told USA Today. “You simply can’t find this at other restaurant chains.”

Business Insider put it this way: "Arby's is going where no fast-food chain has gone before." Smaller burger chains, like New York City-based Bareburger, already offer a variety of wild game sandwiches as well, from duck and wild boar to bison and elk. According to Lynch, Arby's uses free-range grass-fed deer. Arby’s also offers other limited-time menu offers, which currently include the Pumpkin Cheesecake Shake and a steak fajita flatbread sandwich.

Arby’s latest addition will be available at 17 Arby’s restaurant locations throughout the country, according to USA today. Big game-popular states like Minnesota, Wisconsin and Tennessee will feature the sandwich. Each location will roll out the game sandwich at a different time, so plan ahead.
