Reese Witherspoon is sure she’s best friends with Beyoncé and she revealed why during her latest appearance on “The Ellen Show.”

The “Big Little Lies” star shared a clip on Instagram of her sit down with talk show host Ellen Degeneres on Monday.

“Beyoncé and I are really good friends,” she told Ellen. “And I mean, in fact, you might say best friends. Some, some might say that.”

Ellen jokingly chimed in with “I think you would say that,” causing Witherspoon to laugh.

“I mean I’ve known her a really long time and I was like ‘You know what, you guys? You gotta be nice to Ellen because she’s really important in our business and you should probably send her som champagne because she won a big award at the Golden Globes,’” Witherspoon said.”So that was like me just sort of reaching out and making sure that you didn’t feel left out.”

“Thank you so much for doing that,” Ellen cheekily replied.“Do you text with Beyoncé often?”

Witherspoon confirmed while twirling her hair. She then told Ellen that she has the “Single Ladies” singer’s contact information saved in her phone under a bee emoji so that no one knows who she’s texting.

With a grin, Ellen asked when the last time the two had talked, which the actress said was during the Oscars after-party that Beyoncé and husband Jay-Z gave in February.

She later claimed that she and Beyoncé direct message each other through Instagram, frequently citing that the singer follows her on the social media platform.

Ellen also shared the clip on her Instagram page claiming that she’s closer to Beyoncé than Witherspoon.

She wrote: “My show that airs today was taped last week, and it’s a good one! My friend @ReeseWitherspoon, who thinks she’s closer to @Beyoncé than I am, is here. Needless to say, I set her straight.”

In response, Witherspoon accompanied her clip of the interview with screenshots to prove that Beyoncé follows her on Instagram.

The “Legally Blonde” star captioned the post:

“If you don’t follow each other on Instagram, are you even best friends? I’m looking at you, @TheEllenShow…”

Witherspoon's friendship with the Carters notably began at the 2020 Golden Globes after the actress approached their table for some champagne.

"Well, I just noticed that they were having champagne and we run out of water at our table," she told Ellen, who was seated at the Carters' table. "So, I was thirsty and so was [Jennifer] Aniston, who was sitting next to me, and I was like, well, Jay Z seems to have a giant bottle of champagne. And I was, like, ‘Excuse me, Jay Z…' And he was like, ‘Yeah, do you want some champagne?' And I was like, ‘Yes, I do.' Because clearly, he brings the good stuff."

Following the event, Jay-Z sent Witherspoon a whole case of the champagne he had at the event. Further defining the bond, Beyoncé sent her some attire from her Ivy Park collection ahead of its release. Early during the interview, Ellen pointed out to Witherspoon that she had received some Ivy Park pieces as well.

"No, no, no, she sent me clothes and then I was like, ‘I think Ellen might like these,'" the Oscar-winning actress defended her friendship with the singer. "And then she sent them to you because Beyonce and I are really good friends. I mean, really, really, really good friends."
