KEY POINTS

  • Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber's "Stuck With U" ranks no. 1 in Billboard's Hot 100 music chart list
  • The pair's duet track triumphs on the charts, selling over 108,000 copies in the first seven days of release
  • BTS' newest single "On," which reportedly sold over 86,000 copies, also got outpaced by Grande and Bieber's latest track

Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande’s newest song collaboration recently claimed no. 1 the Hot 100 music chart.

The pop star pair’s newest single, “Stuck With U,” bagged the topmost rank in Billboard’s Hot 100 chart list, beating 6ix9ine’s comeback track “GOOBA,” Forbes reported. Following the single’s debut, the music chart throne paved the way for Bieber and Grande’s first joint track, pushing the rapper to settle for third place.

With the pair’s newest track sitting atop the list, the commanding song rank of “Stuck With U” is sure to garner an extremely healthy sale sum. Bieber and Grande have definitely cemented their extensive popularity and fame on top of their already immense stardom in the music industry.

The collaborators' track sold over 108,000 copies in the first seven days of release so far. As per Forbes, the song’s recorded sales figure is deemed as the largest one-week count of 2020 for a single. In fact, the whopping scale has definitely triumphed the Billboard music charts to the point that even BTS, who held the title of the greatest single-frame sales count, got trounced by Bieber and Grande’s song collaboration.

BTS’ latest single “On” was dropped earlier this year, with fans rushing to not just listen to the track but to also purchase it as a show of support for the K-pop band. Debuted in two available versions, “On” quickly outpaced every other title the week it was launched, selling over 86,000 copies.

It was also due to the song’s mass appeal that BTS’ chart-topping feat was bolstered, no other release coming close to the seven-membered act’s track despite other singles trying to push through. But while BTS’ latest single has proven the loyalty of their fans, Bieber’s “Yummy” started with 71,000 copies purchased just weeks before the K-pop boy band’s latest song release.

In the past few weeks, meanwhile, Travis Scott and Kid Cudi’s “The Scotts,” as well as Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj’s “Say So,” peaked on the Digital Song Sales chart, selling an average 60,000 copies all in a single week.

For now, given its impressive chart record, Bieber and Grande’s “Stuck With U” may possibly end 2020 with the largest one-week sales count for a song. And on the flipside, the successful debut of the pair’s duet single goes a long way as the track is also a charity effort aimed at donating a portion of its sales to those who have been negatively affected by the coronavirus outbreak.
