“Arrow” Season 5 is going to end with a throwback. Slade Wilson, also known as Deathstroke, will return for the finale. Actor Manu Bennett will reprise his Season 2 role, but it seems the villain might not be coming after Oliver this time.

Bennet tweeted that he “wasn’t coming back for Arrow,” which is a little confusing. Since star Stephen Amell and executive producer Marc Guggenheim confirmed the actor (not just the character) will return, it certainly looks like he’s coming back. He may have meant that Deathstroke isn’t looking to kill the Green Arrow in the Season 5 finale of the CW drama.

Is Deathstroke trying to help Oliver defeat Prometheus? The new archer certainly seems like a threat that Oliver needs some back up to handle. He just might decide to free Slade Wilson from the ARGUS prison on the island.

Obviously, Bennett’s hashtag warns that we should not make any assumptions, but a deal between the two would certainly make sense after showrunner Wendy Mericle teased some unbelievable team ups. “The alliances are going to be very surprising,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “You’re not going to believe who Oliver is working with to defeat Prometheus. It’s going to be really emotional. It’s going to be all about Oliver’s family, but not the family we’re thinking of right now. It’s going to end in a giant explosion, but not where we think it’s going to end, and the emotional punch is going to be bigger than the actual physical part of the bombs going off.”

We already know that the Season 5 finale will not only be about a showdown between the Green Arrow and Prometheus, but it will also heavily focus on the island where Deathstroke is trapped. After all, that’s where Oliver’s flashbacks will finally end. Guggenheim also revealed that the title of the Season 5 finale is “Lian Yu.”

“Arrow” Season 5 returns Wednesday, April 26 at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
