  • Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson is linked to a move away from Premier League
  • Bundesliga sides Hoffenheim and Wolfsburg are keen on signing Nelson
  • Gunners boss Mikel Arteta confirms conversations with the winger and other players who could be out on loan

With time winding down, clubs outside the English Premier League could be trying to beat the clock and raid one of Arsenal’s wingers.

After struggling to secure a spot in Mikel Arteta’s squad, Reiss Nelson might soon find himself playing outside England.

Previous reports revealed that Nelson’s future with Arsenal has become uncertain. Now, Bundesliga sides Hoffenheim and Wolfsburg are linked to his name, HITC reported.

According to the report, the two German clubs are both “keen” on signing Nelson, who has played just nine first-team games this season for the Gunners--with only two of which came in the Premier League.

It was also noted that the 21-year-old is loved by Arsenal fans and was tagged as a “highly-rated” winger. However, Gunners boss Arteta doesn’t feel the same way about Nelson yet.

Hoffenheim is already well aware of Nelson’s qualities, having signed the player on loan in the 2018-19 season.

The report suggests that a return to the Bundesliga outfit would be ideal for the youngster who netted seven goals in 23 German top-flight matches during his one-year loan spell.

This season, it has become clear that Arsenal’s midfield is already in place with Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe already established themselves as key figures in Arteta’s line-up.

Nelson, on the other hand, has found senior game opportunities and significant minutes rather hard to come by.

Ahead of Saturday's Premier League game against Manchester United, Arteta addressed Nelson’s situation after being quizzed to comment on the winger’s future.

According to the manager, the team is already having a “conversation” with the players possibly heading out on loan, including Nelson, who was once again left out in Arsenal’s last two matches.

"That's a conversation that we are having with the players that are not having a lot of time,” Arteta confirmed to the club’s official website of Nelson. “Obviously, we want to keep their development going and we will make [a] decision in the next three days with some of them on what the best thing is to do. We try to be clear and transparent with what the plans are and their roles in the team and after that, we decide on the best thing for the players and the club.”

“When there are still days left in the market there is still the possibility for things to happen,” he pointed out. “We are in close contact with all the things that can happen and we will see.”
