Robin Van Persie's scintillating form for Arsenal has pulled the London side out of many sticky situations. However, it now seems as though it could come back to bite Arsene Wenger.

A report in TalkSport suggests that the Dutch hit-man could the subject of a bid from Italian giants Internazionale in the January transfer window. With the Italian giants languishing just above the relegation zone, in the Serie A, and with just two league goals at home, manager Claudio Ranieri is looking to re-enforce his strike force.

The Gunners captain has just 18 months left in his contract at Arsenal and with his stunning scoring record of 29 goals in 28 games, it isn't surprising that top European clubs are after him.

Spanish giants Real Madrid have also been linked with the 28-year-old as manager Jose Mourinho looks to add to his attack.

However, having lost Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri, Wenger's side are just about resurfacing after a tough start to the season. It is highly unlikely that Frenchman will let his captain leave, even for a sizeable fee.
