Game developers behind the upcoming Square Enix and Marvel partnership game “The Avengers Project” continue to remain silent about the highly anticipated title. Despite their silence, a report claims that they intend to make it a top-quality title that will be considered the “Game of The Year.”

Previously, the International Business Times reported “The Avengers Project” will be an action adventure game in third-person perspective. The game is believed to feature interesting gameplay mechanics that include melee combat, cover shooting, stealth sections and boss fights expected from games of the same genre.

That information came from a ResetEra post that is already deleted. While players can easily dismiss that post for a few reasons including a lack of confirmation from game developer Crystal Dynamics, a job listing from the game company gives away a few details about the upcoming game.

Emotional experience

The listing, as spotted by ComicBook, implied that “The Avengers Project” will have an “emotional” story. This is based on a statement that describes the qualities they are looking for in a Narrative Director. Specifically, Crystal Dynamics described the ideal narrative director this way:

“They are expert in collaborating across design and narrative disciplines to make memorable, emotional, and cinematic experiences.”

Furthermore, the listing also said the narrative director will also be able to “Create an emotional gameplay experience that remains consistent to the game’s creative vision.”

More than memorable

Based on these descriptions, it appears that “The Avengers Project” will be more than just an exciting action adventure game. It will be a game that gives players a memorable, emotional gameplay experience that will last for years.

Of course, game companies want their projects to become more than just titles listed in retail websites and displayed on shelves. They want their titles to become games that would be engraved in the memories of players for years to come.

Such is the goal that Crystal Dynamics has for “The Avengers Project.” It wants the game to be beyond memorable. The last line in the job listing specifically states one of the most important requirements the ideal narrative director has:

“Passion for games and ambition to create a Game of the Year title,” the listing said.

The developers behind “The Avengers Project” are aiming to make the upcoming game more than just another title. Its movie sibling “Avengers: Endgame” continues to make waves in cinemas. The game devs want it to make big waves in the gaming world, too.
