Avril Lavigne is putting together a new album.

On Thursday, the "Complicated" singer announced on Twitter that she is working on new music and is already putting it together. Lavigne thanked her fans and promised to give her best on her new album.

"To my fans, I just want to thank everyone for their patience as I work on putting together this new album," she wrote. "It's been a long recovery and I want to make sure that this is perfect for you guys! You only deserve my best effort and that's what I'm going to deliver! I can't wait to share the new music I'm working on, I promise it'll be here before you know it!!"

Fans worldwide were overwhelmed with her announcement. They filled the comment section with love and support for the artist.

"We love you Avril!! We support you in every way. We can't wait to hear what you have for us! Love you," AvrilLavigneMalaysia wrote. "We love you too! I'm your big fan from Japan. Love your music since I met the song 'why' & 'when you're gone'. I can't wait to get the album," user @rin_gemie commented.

Lavigne was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2014. This prompted her to keep herself out of the spotlight. The singer revealed that the doctors had a hard time identifying her illness. She had been feeling sick for months and had been visiting a number of physicians before it was diagnosed.

"I went from doctor to doctor for about eight months, which was unacceptable and frustrating. I found somebody had the knowledge and the expertise of treating it," Lavigne told ABC (via Daily Mail). "I actually knew I had it the whole time, probably since the summer."

Lavigne has kept her fans updated about her well-being from time to time. At the end of 2016, the "When You're Gone" singer announced that she would be releasing a new album in 2017. This will be her first since her self-titled LP in 2013, Entertainment Tonight reported.

In May, Lavigne gave another update about her upcoming album on Instagram. She shared a photo of her playing the piano. In the caption, she announced that she has officially started producing it.

"Officially beginning production this week for the album. Wahoo. Almost there. Been pouring my heart and soul into writing these new songs for you guys. Can't wait !!!! #AL6," she wrote.
