A Pennsylvania babysitter sexually assaulted a teen boy under her care and the two also exchanged explicit text messages, papers filed in district court Wednesday revealed.

According to court records, Upper Nazareth Township police received a complaint in July 2018 about a 13-year-old boy being sexually assaulted by his 19-year-old babysitter, Aubrey Collins, who was hired to look after him and his 5-year-old brother. The incident took place at the boy’s bedroom on July 17, 2018.

During police interrogation, the boy said Collins watched over him and his younger brother on an unspecified date prior to the incident after which the two discussed over social media about what would happen the next time she showed up at his home to babysit. On the day of the incident, the two kissed in the living room after which Collins sexually assaulted the boy in his bedroom. The boy’s younger brother was left unsupervised in the living room, WFMZ-TV reported.

After the incident, the two continued communicating over social media and also exchanged explicit text messages. They also discussed having sex in a car, Lehigh Valley Live reported.

Collins was charged with child endangerment, corruption of minors, indecent assault of a person younger than 16 and child endangerment. District Judge John Capobianco arraigned Collins and asked her to receive a mental health evaluation. Collins was released on an unsecured bail of $50,000 and asked to avoid contact with the 13-year-old. The preliminary hearing was scheduled for March 13.

In a similar incident, a 23-year-old babysitter sexually assaulted an eight-year-old girl in Scotland. A court heard in January that the babysitter assaulted the girl in a bedroom upstairs while his alcoholic mother drank downstairs. The girl’s younger sister walked into the room during the assault and gave evidence in the court after which the babysitter, Vile David Knox, was found guilty of the crime.

"They happened in situations where David Knox was babysitting the children. Even if there were adults present, he was supervising them [children]. The sister interrupted David Knox. X said David Knox was trying to have sex with her on that occasion,” Advocate Murdoch McTaggart said.
