“The Bachelor” cast is dwindling fast and it looks like the reality of finding love — or being left out in the cold for a fourth time — is finally hitting Nick Viall.

Season 21, episode 6 of the ABC series kicks off where the previous left off. Taylor, who was sent home after a two-on-one date in the bayou with Nick and Corinne, has returned and has a bone to pick with Nick. She crashes his and Corinne’s dinner date, calling her nemesis a liar and requesting a moment alone with “The Bachelor.”

The pair step outside and Taylor is finally able to tell her side of the story. She assures Nick that she’s not been bullying Corinne, nor did she ever call her stupid, and reminds him that she’s not the only Season 21 cast member that’s had issues with the Miami native. After her spiel, Nick lets her know that Corinne’s bullying claims played little to no part in her having been cut from “The Bachelor” cast and sends her on her way once again.

After that awkward encounter, it’s time to cut the cast down a little more. The rose ceremony commences and Nick sends Alexis, Jaimi and Josephine packing before revealing to the rest of “The Bachelor” cast that they’re headed to a tropical paradise.

The cast jets to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, and braces for what they hope will be a relaxing vacation. As soon as Nick’s seaplane lands, he whisks Kristina away for a one-on-one. The pair spend the day exploring ancient ruins, where Kristina opens up a little about her heartbreaking past, before taking a romantic swim in the ocean. From there the duo heads to dinner where Kristina opens up some more and further cements her place in the hearts of both Nick and Bachelor Nation.

The next day it’s time for a group date. Nick and “The Bachelor” crew have a fun day of competition planned for the six women chosen, but intense feelings and a bit too much tequila and sunshine quickly derail those plans. An innocent game of volleyball turns into a death match as Jasmine G. lets her desire to be noticed by Nick and her competitive nature overtake her. The date ends and Nick is clearly uneasy. Things only get worse back at the temporary “Bachelor” mansion.

Jasmine G. continues ranting and raving about how Nick hasn’t noticed her until he finally does. The two step away and Nick is hopeful that he’ll feel the same spark he initially felt with her when “The Bachelor” began. Jasmine G. attempts to vocalize her problems to Nick, but things go sour fast. She repeatedly jokes about choking him — out of both frustration and in a sexual manner — and it’s obvious the Waukesha, Wisconsin, native is uncomfortable. He decides it’s best to be straight up with her and sends her packing.

Nick goes into the final date — a two-on-one with Danielle L. and Whitney — trying not to think about the horrible day he had before. The trio jet to a remote island where they lounge on an outdoor bed, sip cocktails and prepare for someone to be left stranded. Nick speaks with both women before deciding that the connection just isn’t there with Whitney. He and Danielle L. hop back in the helicopter and head for the mainland to enjoy dinner together.

During their meal Danielle L. repeatedly talks about how strong her feelings are for Nick and how close they’ve gotten in the previous weeks. She attempts to describe him and what he’s about and how much she relates to that. Nick is quiet through much of the conversation, but it’s becoming clear that he’s not feeling the same way. He finally makes the decision to send Danielle L. home as well — a decision that sends shockwaves through the spines of the remaining “Bachelor” hopefuls.

In the final moments of Season 21, episode 6, Nick barges into the suite the cast is sharing to have an honest moment with them. Before long he’s in tears, sharing with them his darkest fears. Nick admits for the first time that he’s worried the process isn’t working and it’s clear that the women are uncertain of their fates with “The Bachelor.”
