Many people seek comfort in their friends after a breakup, but not many people are friends with Selena Gomez. So it’s no surprise “The Bachelor” fans were shocked to see footage of the ABC show's recent winner, Madison Prewett, casually shopping in Target alongside the famous singer earlier this week.

After all, what better way to get over her breakup with “The Bachelor” himself, Peter Weber, than to hang out with a pop star who can almost be considered an expert at this point in navigating media scrutiny about her relationships?

Bachelor Nation was confused and excited at seeing the two interact via Gomez’s Instagram Story Thursday night, according to ET Online.

The Madison-Gomez friendship reveal follows Peter's announcement on Instagram that he and Madison will be parting ways after the show's dramatic Season 24 finale. So, it comes as no surprise that fans were then both impressed and confused as to why Madison suddenly appeared in Gomez’s Instagram story, laughing and playing games with some other of her other friends.

“We are stocking up on games,” Gomez said in the video. “Madi, what game do you want?”

Most fans are sharing their enthusiasm that Madison escaped what they believe was a “toxic” mother-in-law situation with Peter’s mom, Barbara Weber.

Others online are praising Madison for metaphorically getting the last laugh after a tumultuous relationship with Peter and his mother on “The Bachelor,” stating that the 23-year-old is “winning.”

Gomez then shared another series of video updates on the progress of game night that revealed that she and Madison, along with a few other friends, actually played the games they bought. Madison and her team seemed to have won the game, but according to Gomez’s playful photo from her story, “they cheated.”
