“The Bachelorette” star Britt Nilsson is still looking for love. When the Season 11 star lost the series’ title role to Kaitlyn Bristowe in the two-part premiere, but found love with cast off contestant Brady Toops, it appeared she was destined to find for true love. But only a few short weeks later, it was revealed the reality TV couple had called it quits.

E! Online broke the hearts of “The Bachelorette” viewers nationwide on Tuesday by announcing that Britt, a 28-year-old aspiring actress, and Brady, a 33-year-old singer-songwriter, had broken up. Now, Britt is speaking out about her split from her former co-star and explaining the reason they parted ways. And according to her, their breakup occurred two months ago, long before it was first announced.

Britt says everything about her whirlwind romance with Brady was perfect “on paper,” but there was something standing in the way of their happiness. “We didn’t have that connection I was looking for. That was a hard conclusion,” she told People.

While the long-distance aspect of their romance didn’t play a role in their breakup — Britt said Brady would travel from Tennessee to stay with her in Los Angeles — it soon became clear they were not meant to be.

“At the beginning, I was like, ‘This is it. This guy.’ He checked off everything on my checklist,” Britt said. Ultimately, Britt claims their differences became too big not to notice. “He’s more of an introvert and I’m an extrovert,” she dished. “I’m just more loud and outgoing and I’m always on the go. Brady’s a little bit more mediative. We weren’t fed by the same things.”

Brady, on the other hand, says what he felt for Britt was “true and deep.” “I’m sad it didn’t work out,” he told the magazine.

While they may no longer be a couple, Britt says she remains good friends with “The Bachelorette” star. “I want to see Britt happy,” Brady added. “I want to see her find the sort of love she longs for.”

While ABC viewers won’t have a Britt-Brody proposal to look forward to, the Season 11 finale is quickly approaching. Kaitlyn has two men remaining, Shawn Booth and Nick Viall, and rumor has it, she will accept one proposal in the finale. So, who will it be? Fans have to tune in to find out! “The Bachelorette” airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
