  • Michelle Young sparked split rumors after being filmed without her engagement ring
  • The "Bachelorette" alum refuted the rumors
  • Nayte Olukoya joked about the situation by posting a hilarious TikTok video

“Bachelorette” alum Michelle Young has shut down rumors that she and Nayte Olukoya have parted ways. Young was filmed without her engagement ring Monday, sparking speculations that she and her fiancé might no longer be together.

In a series of videos posted on her Instagram Stories, Young refuted the rumors and hit back at those who took her videos without her knowledge. “OK, I typically don’t come on here and address these types of things, but because I received so many messages about it, there is a video circulating of me on a rooftop this weekend and I’m not wearing my engagement ring,” she said.

“To the person who is paying close enough attention to catch that moment, you also have to be paying close enough attention to see one of my good friends briefly remove my engagement ring to try it on and then place it back on my finger,” she continued.

Young also pointed out that “it’s not cool” documenting people without them knowing. “Just a friendly reminder that Nayte and I, we are human beings, not a zoo exhibit. Not to mention, videoing somebody without them knowing is creepy! It’s not cool!” she said.

Meanwhile, Olukoya made fun of the situation by posting a video of himself driving on TikTok. In the hilarious clip, he revealed that 90% of his DMs are fans asking him why Young is not with him.

Young and Olukoya met on the set of “The Bachelorette” Season 18. Olukoya proposed to Young in the December 2021 finale of the show and they have been engaged since.

In an interview with US Weekly back in February, Olukoya opened up about his relationship with Young and their wedding plans. “We like to make sure that we’re always making very calculated decisions, we’re always looking at all of our options,” he said.

He also revealed they did not put a timeline on their wedding date, although they’re looking at tying the knot during the summer. “We were really talking about the summer season, but what I can say is we both have so many friends and family members and just people that we would want to be part of that day, so a pandemic wedding is not something that we’re really looking at,” he said.
