Electronic Arts and DICE have released a timeline detailing the post-launch content that will be added to “Battlefield V.” The post-launch content schedule revealed that the game’s battle royale mode, called Firestorm, won’t be available until early 2019.

DICE only showed that the release window for Firestorm in “Battlefield V” will be in March 2019 instead of providing a specific date. The battle royale mode will be part of the third chapter of DICE’s Tides of War post-launch content, which the developer said will evolve gameplay, deliver new experiences and expand the world. This third chapter is called Trial By Fire. It will also add the Greece map that features the aerial invasion of the Cretan cost. The map is also said to focus on tank versus airplane warfare.

“Firestorm elevates the mode by bringing in the best of what ‘Battlefield’ is known for. Mix a shrinking playing field with trademark ‘Battlefield’ elements such as team play, powerful vehicles, and destruction, and you get many unique Battlefield moments coming your way,” DICE’s Jonas Elfving said.

“Battlefield V” Tides of War will kick off sometime two weeks after the release of the game on Nov. 20. The first chapter will be called Overture and will last from early December until January 2019. Overture will bring the new Panzerstorm map to the game and will focus heavily on the use of tanks.

Overture will also introduce the addition of the single-player mode called The Last Tiger, which is part of the game’s War Stories narrative. The Last Tiger will be about a small Tiger Tank crew that “begins to question the ideology that got them to this point.”

DICE will also add the Practice Range to “Battlefield V” during this first chapter of post-launch content. The Practice Range will help players improve their skills in shooting, driving and flying. This mode will feature an environment that’s based on the Hamada map. Vehicle Customizations will also be introduced during the first chapter. This will let players put skins on tanks and add skins and decals to planes.

The second chapter is called Lightning Strikes and it will be available sometime between January and March. This chapter will focus on vehicular warfare and rapid infantry movements. There will be a new mode called Combined Arms, which will let player team up with three friends to complete a series of Combat Strike missions across several maps. Enemies in this mode will be AIs. The chapter also adds a revamped version of the Rush game mode. Squad Conquest will also get a bit of a refresh with only two squads per team for a total of 16 players.

Each chapter of Tides of War will have weekly events where players can earn rewards. Rewards will also be rewarded to players each time they level up their chapter rank. Updates and other improvements will be added into “Battlefield V” throughout the entire post-launch schedule, as pointed out by Polygon.
